Manchester United secured their place in next season’s Champions League with a convincing 4-1 victory over Chelsea.
The match saw Casemiro score with a header from Christian Eriksen’s free-kick early on, followed by Anthony Martial adding a second goal from close range just before halftime. Chelsea had several excellent opportunities but failed to convert them, and their profligacy proved costly.
Bruno Fernandes won and converted a penalty, and Wesley Fofana’s mistake gifted Fernandes the ball, which he then passed to substitute Marcus Rashford to score. It was a disappointing performance from Chelsea as have been most of their matches this season.
This result means Chelsea have only managed one win in their last 13 games, with 10 of those matches occurring under manager Frank Lampard.
Despite fielding the youngest ever Premier League lineup, Chelsea’s lack of conviction and cohesion was evident. Joao Felix’s late goal provided little consolation.

For Manchester United, the injury to Antony was the only downside of the match. However, it was an otherwise successful night for Erik ten Hag’s team.
They needed at least one point to secure their position and deny Liverpool any chance of catching up to them, but they went on to secure all three points in style.
This match epitomized the story of Chelsea’s season—flashes of individual brilliance overshadowed by humiliation and a lack of cohesion.
Erik ten Hag on the other hand, called for the club to bring in “better players” to strengthen their squad for a title challenge in the upcoming season.
