Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has playfully refused to dismiss the speculation linking Neymar with a sensational move to the club.
It is rumored that Paris Saint-Germain has made the Brazilian star available for transfer this summer, and United is among the clubs that have been contacted regarding a potential move.
Neymar became the world’s most expensive player when he joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for £200 million. However, PSG’s Qatari owners are reportedly looking to rebuild their squad and Neymar, along with Lionel Messi, could be on the list of players who may have to be moved along.
The feasibility of such a move remains uncertain as Ten Hag considers various targets after already spending £220 million in his first transfer window.
When asked about the rumors surrounding Neymar during a press conference before United’s upcoming Premier League game against Chelsea, Ten Hag maintained a coy stance, stating, “When we have news, we will tell you,” with a smile.
Manchester United is expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, with a significant number of players anticipated to leave Old Trafford.
Harry Maguire is reportedly set to depart after falling out of favour at the club, and the futures of Anthony Martial, Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga, and Brandon Williams are uncertain.
While goalkeeper David de Gea is expected to sign a new contract, several fringe players, including Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly, and Alex Telles, are also likely to depart the club.
