Julen Lopetegui has been sacked by Sevilla with immediate effect following their 4-1 Champions League defeat to Dortmund on Wednesday night.
Lopetegui had been under pressure after a poor start to the season which has left his side just a place above the relegation zone in La Liga.
Sevilla have also taken just a point from three Champions League games so far this season and are in danger of being eliminated.

Lopetegui was in charge for three seasons where he managed 89 wins in 170 games. The Spaniard qualified for the Champions League in each of the three campaigns he was in charge but perhaps his greatest achievement was winning the 2020 Europa League where his side beat Inter 3-2 in the final.
