Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba and his mother have reportedly been placed under police protection in the Italian city of Turin.
Pogba had previously claimed he was subjected to threats and blackmail attempts from an ‘organised gang’ which included his brother and some childhood friends.
The former Manchester United player reported this to the Italian police, and earlier this month the Paris prosecutor’s office opened a judicial probe into his allegations.
Investigations resulted in his brother Mathias Pogba and four others to be taken into custody, according to judicial sources of the news agencies Reuters and Agence France-Presse.

Pogba also claimed that the gang who threatened him were armed and he was forced to give them €100k because he was scared and feared for his life.
Him and his mother have now been placed in under police protection pending ongoing investigation into the case.
