Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the club has rejected two bids for talented defender Wesley Fofana as they did not reach the club’s valuation of the player.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the transfer window after impressing for the Foxes since his move from Saint-Etienne in 2020.
The Blues have already signed two defenders in Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella this summer but Thomas Tuchel is still keen on bolstering his defence with Fofana.
Chelsea have reportedly had two bids for the Frenchman rejected by Leicester but are still hopeful a deal can be struck before the transfer window closes.
When asked whether Leicester have received another bid from Chelsea, Rodgers said: “Not that I am aware of. There were two, but again, nowhere near what the club would even think about.
“The point to reiterate is that we are not looking to sell Wesley. He is not a player we are actively looking to sell but naturally if there is interest from other clubs, that is looked at by the club.
“He is a top young defender. There are not too many about at his age. He is someone we would love to keep here but we will have to see what develops.”

The Foxes boss revealed that the defender is aware of the interest from Chelsea but is relaxed about the transfer situation and has been professional.
“Another year here for him at least would be really important for his development, but he is quite calm and relaxed in the situation,” he added.
“He is aware of the interest. He understands where we are as a club and where we see him. He’s just getting on with his work and training well, and whenever there is any communication we are able to have a conversation.”
Leicester are reportedly holding out for £80m from Chelsea for Fofana having rejected two bids of £60m and another in excess of £70m.
Fofana won the club’s Young Player of the Year award during his first season at the King Power Stadium. However, the defender suffered an unfortunate leg break on the eve of the 2021/22 campaign which kept him out until March of this year.
