Alexis Sanchez and Inter Milan have reached an agreement to mutually terminate the player’s contract as he seeks to make a move elsewhere.
The Chilean has reportedly agreed a deal with French club Marseille where he is expected to sign a two-year contract.
Sanchez spent three seasons at Inter Milan where he scored 20 goals, including nine last season. His contract was set to expire in 2023 but he opted to call time on his Serie A career and Inter were open to letting him leave to cut down on their wage bill.
The former Arsenal and Manchester United forward had become surplus to requirements at the club after recent summer additions to the squad. Romelu Lukaku, Joaquin Correa, Kristjan Asllani, Raoul Bellanova, Andre Onana and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all joined Inter this summer.

Inter confirmed his departure from the club via a brief statement: “The club would like to thank Alexis for his three seasons in the Nerazzurri culminating in the conquest of three trophies and wishes him the best for the rest of his career.”
Sanchez made 108 appearances for Inter, winning a Serie A title, Coppa Italian and Italian Super Cup.
He has not had a regular starting career in recent years as he was often used as a substitute under former Inter boss Antonio Conte and also under present manager Simone Inzaghi.
