Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss Manchester United’s final Premier League match to Crystal Palace with a hip injury.
Already destined to finish the season with their lowest points tally in Premier League history, Manchester United will be without their prolific forward for their final game of the season.
Ronaldo is the club’s topscorer this season with 24 goals in all competitions but will play no further part in the season as he developed a hip injury in training.
His omission will be a big miss for Manchester United who could secure a Europa League spot with a win on the final day. On the other hand, if they lose or draw at Palace and West Ham win at Brighton, they will finish in seventh place and have to settle for the Europa League Conference.
Incoming Man United boss Erik ten Hag is expected to be in attendance and watch the game from the stands at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
When quizzed about his plans for the 37-year-old next season, the former Ajax boss said he was eager to work with him: “I can’t wait to work with him.”

Ronaldo also has a lot of respect for ten Hag, lauding his experience and hoping he brings silverware to the club.
“What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he’s an experienced coach,” Ronaldo told the club website. “But we need to give him time. Things need to change the way he wants.
“I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.
“We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well. Let’s believe that next year we are going to win trophies.”
