Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club has presented a contract extension offer to Ousmane Dembele but admitted the forward is being tempted by other more lucrative offers.
Over time, Dembele has turned down several offers from Barcelona as they have been deemed not to meet his wage demands.
The Spanish giants who are in a bit of a financial rubble, have been trying to keep their wage bill down as they struggle to stabilise and pay off their debt.
It is in lieu of this that the club have been unable to meet the wage demands of the the forward and an agreement haven’t been reached because he feels he is worth more than what has been offered.
Dembele has been in blistering form since the beginning of the year after coming back from an injury lay-off.
But as the season draws to a close, so does the Frenchman’s contract which expires in the summer.
Barcelona remain desperate to tie Dembele to fresh terms but Laporta has conceded that the player may leave as he has received better offers from elsewhere.

“He [Dembele] wants to stay, but he is very tempted by other options that offer better conditions,” Laporta told Catalunya Radio. “The offer has been presented for a long time and they have asked us for time, until the end of the season, next week.
“We already wanted an answer before, but we can’t force it because Dembele ends his contract. The coach and I like him. We have made a very important effort to keep him.
“I see him very comfortable. There is a good personal relationship with everyone. [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang has come, with him and they are very good friends.
“He has some representatives who control the situation, but I hope he stays. If not, we will strengthen that position.”
Dembele has the most La Liga assists so far this season with 13 assists from just 20 games he has featured in.
The 24-year-old has attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe including PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United.
