Jurgen Klopp has given injury updates for Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk who had to be forced off in their FA Cup Final win against Chelsea having sustained injuries during the game.
Salah was substituted as early as the first half with what seemed to be a groin injury and was replaced by Diogo Jota.
Van Dijk on the other hand lasted the whole 90 minutes of regular time but did not surface for extra time as he was replaced by Joel Matip.
“I spoke to both of them after the game and both are really OK,” Klopp said when asked about the severity of their injuries.
“All we know is that it’s not a big thing but the next game is on Tuesday. I think they will both be fine.”
Given his comments, one is led to believe the substitutions were precautionary and the players would be back on the pitch in no time.
Van Dijk was even captured dancing after the match in the dressing room with the FA Cup while his team-mates sang his name.

“We’re going to check it out. I felt in the first half when I sprinted, I felt a twinge behind my knee, I played on,” the Liverpool defender said about his injury.
“In the end, I can’t risk it for the team and I need to trust Joel. Hopefully it will be fine.”
Liverpool’s injury list is piling up as Salah and van Dijk join Fabinho who was sidelined for the fixture with a suspected hamstring injury sustained against Aston Villa in midweek.
The Reds have three games left of their campaign as they continue to chase a quadruple bid. They have two Premier League games against Southampton and Wolves and also a much anticipated Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid.
The Reds will no doubt need their best players to be fit in order to push for the remaining possible trophies.
