Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has agreed with Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool forward claimed he was the best in the world in his position.
Salah claimed in an interview that he was the best player in the world in his position which drew debate amongst some people but Ancelotti has backed his claims, stating that he agrees with the Egyptian.
The Liverpool forward has impressed again this season putting up another 30-goal haul for his side and indeed earning himself a ballon d’Or shout.
Salah and Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema are regarded as the front-runners for the coveted award as they have both have had impressive campaigns with their sides.
Both players will face off in the Champions League final on May 28 with both having the opportunity to stake their claim for the award.
“Salah has said that in his position he is the best in the world and I think he is right,” Ancelotti said about the Egyptian’s comments.
“I agree with him. In his position, yes, he is the best in the world.”
It is a well known fact that both Benzema and Salah do not play in the same position with the former being a centre forward and the latter a winger.

So while Ancelotti agrees with Salah, he may have a whole different idea of who the best player in the world is.
His comments come after Salah told BeIN Sports: “If you compare me with any player in my position, not only in my team but in the world, you will find that I am the best.
“I always focus on my work and do my best and my numbers are the best proof of my words. I like to always create a new challenge for me, to work in a different way and to make a difference and that is my duty.”
The Liverpool forward also revealed that his side were out for revenge against Madrid for the 2018 Champions League final disappointment where Los Blancos ran out 3-1 winners.
“I remember the last final against Real Madrid as if it was yesterday,” he added. “We are well prepared and hopefully we can take our revenge in the next final.”
