The agent of Romelu Lukaku has caused a bit of a transfer news stir with comments stating he and his client would have to talk to Chelsea new owner in a bid to clarify his future.
Lukaku made a £98m switch from Inter Milan to Stamford Bridge last summer but the move hasn’t been quite as expected.
The Belgian has failed to impress which has started rumours that he may be looking for a way out of the club to somewhere he could be better suited.
When asked about a possible departure for Lukaku, his agent Federico Pastorello told La Repubblica:
“He has the club and the fans in his heart, he has never hidden it, like his love for Anderlecht where he would like to end his career.
“But we cannot think about negotiations. Chelsea are in takeover discussions, we do not know the new owners, let alone if we can open talks with Inter or AC Milan. We have to wait.”
His agent also admitted that Lukaku has had a ‘problem’ in his second stint at Chelsea which was not expected when he made the move.

“For the cost of the transfer, no one could have expected such a situation,” he added.
“I do not discuss the tactical choices, but it is obvious that there was a problem. The numbers, however, must be considered – he is still the team’s best scorer, with less playing time compared to his team-mates.
“The situation must be carefully assessed, now there is Champions League qualification to secure, there is the FA Cup final. Romelu is focused on this, we have not talked about anything else.”
Lukaku has been quite vocal about having a tough time at Chelsea. He once gave an interview where he revealed he was unhappy with the style of play of the coach.
“Physically I am fine. But I’m not happy with the situation at Chelsea,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports Italia. “Tuchel has chosen to play with another system.”
He also said he had his former club Inter Milan in his heart and would one day like to return.
