Former Real Madrid, Ajax and AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has pointed out that a lack of mentality is the reason Man City were knocked out of the Champions League by his former club.
Pep Guardiola’s side were stunned by Los Blancos as they were dramatically knocked out in extra time at the Bernabeu.
Seedorf has accused the English side of having a lack of mentality as compared to their opponents.
The Dutch legend gave his thoughts on the match after witnessing his former club come from behind to win it and progress to the finals.
“Real Madrid’s mentality isn’t something created in a year or two, or even ten,” he said on Amazon Prime.
“It’s about coming to a club where you know you’re a part of something much greater than yourself.

He added: “In Madrid, if you’re eliminated in the round of 16, you can’t leave your house for at least two months, while in Manchester City, if they reach the semi-finals, they celebrate.
“The magic of The Bernabeu cannot be explained. I am happy and proud to have been able to play in this stadium.”
With the win against City, Real Madrid have now qualified for their 17th Champions League final.
