Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick says the club misses the contributions of Mason Greenwood and must sign at least two strikers this summer in order to be able to compete with other clubs.
Greenwood has been dropped from the squad since January following the arrest of the 20-year-old on suspicion of rape, assault and threats to kill.
The absence of Greenwood means Rangnick has had to rely on 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo and 35-year-old Edinson Cavani for goals as they are the only other first-team central strikers in the squad.
The only other attackers are Marcus Rashford, who has not contributed as much as was expected this season with the Englishman struggling for form and summer signing Jadon Sancho who hasn’t lived up to expectations at Manchester.
Following the 3-0 win over Brentford on Monday night, Rangnick has pointed out that in the absence of Greenwood, the Red Devils will have to sign more attackers in the summer.
“We need at least two [strikers] to give team more quality,” Rangnick said. “Modern strikers.
“Liverpool and Man City have five or six. Is Grealish a winger or striker? They are all strikers.

The goalscoring responsibility at Old Trafford has been placed firmly on the shoulders of Ronaldo in the absence of other striking options.
The Portuguese has shouldered responsibility well, scoring 24 goals in all competitions for United and is currently the club’s top scorer.
Bruno Fernandes is next on the goalscorers’ list with 10 goals and the suspended Greenwood, despite missing the second half of the season, is still United’s third highest goalscorer with six goals.
Rashford and Sancho are level on goals this season with both England internationals having five goals apiece.
