Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message urging the fans for their support as he backs himself and his teammates to do well in their World Cup qualifier playoffs against Turkey on Thursday.
Portugal are amongst the teams which have not yet qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and will have to go through a last stage of qualifiers to be able to qualify.
Ronaldo and his team narrowly missed out on automatic qualification after finishing runners-up of Group A. Instead, it was Serbia who qualified automatically.
They face Turkey who were also runners-up of Group G. The Turks missed out of automatic qualification while group leaders Netherlands claimed top spot.
The task ahead of Ronaldo and Portugal is not an easy one as this would likely be his last chance at participating in a World Cup before retirement.
The 37-year-old has therefore sent a message ahead of the game to raise the morale of both the team and fans.
