Partey grew up as a Christian but has now decided to convert to to Islam and become a Muslim. His reasons for converting remains unknown.
The 28-year-old made a big money switch from Atletico Madrid to Arsenal in 2020. The £45m transfer made him become the most expensive Ghanaian player of all time.
Partey initially struggled to justify his price tag and found life in England a bit more demanding than in Spain. However, the midfielder has recently settled and adapted to the Premier League, helping Arsenal in the heart of the midfield.
Partey endured an underwhelming AFCON 2021 where the Black Stars failed to qualify beyond the group stages.
He will hope to help his nation qualify for a spot in the World Cup in Qatar by defeating the Super Eagles of Nigeria later this month.
Thomas Partey is not the only footballer who has converted to Islam of recent. Dutch legend Clarence Seedorf also announced his conversion to Islam in February.
