Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick against PSG to complete a sensational 3-2 aggregate comeback for his side in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.
Les Parisiens took a 1-0 first leg lead to the Bernabeu where they hoped they could see through the advantage and qualify for the quarter-final stages.
However, it was not to be as Los Blancos turned up the heat to secure a hard-fought 3-1 win against the Ligue 1 giants.
PSG were well in control in the first half with Kylian Mbappe running riot for his side. The Frenchman had a goal disallowed for offside but finally grabbed his goal moments later after a swift counterattacking display by the visitors.
However, in the second half, the momentum of the match seemed to switch to Real Madrid’s favour.
Los Blancos were handed the equaliser after Benzema’s pressure on Gianluigi Donnarumma led to the Italian gifting the ball to Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian quickly picked out Benzema who rifled a shot in for the equaliser.
Moments later, Real Madrid soon found themselves ahead of PSG and level on aggregate when a fast counter-attack inspired by Luka Modric, was finished off by Benzema after some brilliant individual display by Vinicius Jr.

Seconds after kick off of Madrid’s second goal, they grabbed their third. The Spanish giants stole possession immediately after kick off and broke fast.
Fast play between Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Jr coupled with a defensive error from Marquinhos gifted the ball to Benzema who hit it first time into the back of the net.
Although they had about 15 minutes to try to respond, Les Parisiens came up toothless and were unable change the scoreline.
With the win, Real Madrid are through to the quarter-finals and will soon discover who they will face.
The Champions League quarter-final draw will take place on Friday, March 18 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
