Nigeria and Leciester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has revealed the cordial relationship between him and his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho a.k.a Seniorman Kelz.
The relationship according to him did not just start as they were Leicester footballers but can be traced back to their academy days when they represented Nigeria at various youth levels.
Ndidi and Seniorman Kelz both play for Leciester City, the latter as a forward and the former as a defensive midfielder.
However, due to a number of injuries rocking the squad, Ndidi has been recently moved to the heart of defence as a make-shift defender.
What did Ndidi say about Seniorman Kelz?
In an interview with the club’s official website, Ndidi revealed that he has developed a special bond with Seniorman Kelz and enjoys playing alongside him.
“The relationship between me and Kelz is very great. It’s amazing because people just thought we were team-mates, playing for Leicester and playing for the national team.
“But I’ve known Kelechi since we were in the academy, very young, so it’s not just new. We’ve been very close since we were in [Nigeria] Under-17s together. It’s been amazing having him around. I’m enjoying every moment.”
Ndidi and Seniorman Kelz will be looking to feature later today as they welcome Danish side Randers to the King’s Power Stadium for their Europa Conference League playoff tie.
The Foxes will be hoping to go back to winning ways against Randers tonight to ease the pressure on Brendan Rodgers after a poor run of form.
Leicester endured an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Championship side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fourth round.
Both Ndidi and Iheanacho featured in that match, with Seniorman Kelz scoring the Foxes’ only goal of the game.
Ndidi could make his 200th appearance for Leicester City tonight if selected for the match. The 25-year-old revealed he would be ready when called upon and said he expects a tough game.

“When the game starts, it doesn’t matter how long you have played. In football, it’s just about their ability and their love for the game to go for it. It’s not how far you’ve actually trained. People are just physically and mentally ready.
“It might be a great opportunity for us as a team and we look forward to these games and just look to take it as it comes.
“I expect it to be a really tough game because every team playing is worthy of winning the competition.
“Seeing videos about the team, they are a really good side and I think we are ready for it. They are very compact, they work together as a team. For us, we have ways to see how we can approach the game.”
Ndidi said that the competition was an opportunity to win a trophy this season and admitted that a win would boost the morale of the squad. However, he was also quick to add that anything could happen.
“This is another great opportunity for us to be at our best, to try to get as many wins as we can and to come out with something from the season,” he said.
“It’s also good for the confidence looking forward. The season is still on.
“Anything can happen. We look to do our best – playing our football, enjoying the game and winning games. It’s not the way the team is going now, but I think we are actually getting where we want to be slow and steady.”
Ndidi has over the years proven to be a vital player for the Foxes. He has also cemented his legacy as one of the Premier League’s best in his position. It is no wonder many clubs like Manchester United have shown interest in the Super Eagles star.
