Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that the club would be open to a big move in the transfer market like the signing of Vlahovic this month were the opportunity to present itself.
Arteta has been quizzed concerning the transfer rumours linking the club to the pursuit of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Fiorentina value the 21-year-old at around £60 million and according to reports, the Gunners have shown serious interest in the forward.
Vlahovic is the Serie A leading scorer. He has scored 18 goals in 22 games this season. Reports in Italy suggest Arsenal are keen to bring Vlahovic to the Emirates in this transfer window and could be willing to include Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina, to sweeten the deal.
The winter transfer window could be ideal for Arsenal to sign Vlahovic as he has just 18 months left on his contract with the Serie A side. He has also made it clear he will not be extending his stay at the club.
The club are reportedly set to cash in on the striker now when it appears he has a lot of admirers in Europe.

Speaking to the press ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest, Arteta did not rule out the possibility of adding to the squad during the winter transfer window.
“I think with the amount of things and the way that we want to evolve the squad we have to maximise every window in many different ways and we are alert,” he said.
“Edu and his team are working very hard as we know exactly what we need to do.
“Whether we can accomplish that in January or in the summer is a different question as it is related to other stuff.
“Again if it is the right player and we can afford it and we can do what we want to do we will discuss it and make the best possible decision.
“We are open.”
Arsenal find themselves in the top four of the Premier League as a result of recent good performances.
They hope to compete with other clubs not just on the pitch but in a financial capacity as well, a feat they know will not be easy.
Arsenal may be strong admirers of Vlahovic but the striker has other admirers as well with Tottenham, Manchester City and Juventus also reportedly interested.
Reports also suggest that a deal in January could be difficult as the player wants to stay at Fiorentina till the end of the season before he makes a decision on his future.
Arsenal are in need of a striker and landing the transfer of Vlahovic would not only be a firm statement of intent but will drastically improve the quality of their squad.
