Lionel Messi reflects on Tuesday’s win over Manchester City stating that it was a “perfect night” as he scored his first goal for PSG in a massive Champions League victory.
Messi scored his first PSG goal and the team’s second goal of the night on an assist from Kylian Mbappe, helping his side to a 2-0 win over City.
Messi had been an injury doubt for PSG after reports of a knee injury that sidelined him for the fixture against Montpelier during the weekend.
However, the Argentine was able to shake off the injury in a bid to help his team in the Champions League.
Les Parisiens had earlier taken the lead via Idrissa Gana Gueye in the first half before PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe laid it on a plate for Messi to curl in his goal from inside the Man City box in the closing stages of the match.
With the goal, Messi has scored in his 17th consecutive Champions League campaign, equalling the record set by Karim Benzema against Sheriff that same night.

“Our relationship will get better and better with each game. We all have to grow together, increase our level of play. We have to continue.
“We won a very important game against a very big rival, who was in the final last year. We must continue to progress, improve a lot of things for the future.”
Messi has now scored 27 goals in 35 appearances against English teams in the Champions League, 15 more than any other player in the competition.
He now has 121 goals in the Champions League, as he moves within 14 of Ronaldo for the competition’s all-time mark.
Even after all these years, Messi continues to reach new heights in the Champions League, scoring for fun and helping his team. With his first goal in a PSG shirt, one can sense there will be lots more to come from Messi.
