Man United play hosts in Saturday’s fixture vs Newcastle United at Old Trafford with both teams looking to improve their positions on the log.

There’s been lots of talk about the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and perhaps rightly so. The Portuguese is set to make his second Man United debut at Old Trafford against one of his favourite opposition, Newcastle.

The former Juventus forward has proven to be one of the deadliest strikers in world football and is recently in fine form as well.

Not only have Manchester United recruited Ronaldo but they also brought in Jadon Sancho as well who could cause damage to most defences. It means that Man United have a potentially fully stocked attacking arsenal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men face a Newcastle side that have conceded the third-highest number of goals so far, conceding eight goals in their three games. Only Arsenal and Norwich have let in more goals than Steve Bruce’s men.

With that said, Manchester United go into the game as overwhelming favourites to not only win but score a lot of goals but it’s never really that straightforward in football is it?

In addition, the Red Devils have a superior head-to-head against their visitors winning five of their last six meetings.

Interesting stat: Ronaldo’s first and only Premier League hat-trick came against Newcastle in a 6-0 win at Old Trafford in 2008. Is a repeat on the cards?
