Neymar Jr has laughed off suggestions of being fat as he was once again a hot topic for discussion following his most recent international outing against Chile on Friday.

The 29-year-old featured for Brazil against South American counterparts Chile in the World Cup qualifiers, a game which the Copa America finalists won 1-0.

Images of the game on social media had fans wondering as to whether or not the PSG star had gained weight.

But Neymar laughed off the accusations via his Instagram story as he insisted he was simply wearing a larger shirt and would ask to return to his regular jersey size for his next game.

“Do we play well? No! Win? Yes!,” his message roughly translates as.

“So follow the ball.”

“Note: shirt was G, I’m at my weight, next game I will get shirt M.

“We keep making history.”

The post was accompanied by a number of laughing emojis, highlighting how funny he found the accusations to be.

The former Barcelona man did not stop there though. Neymar went further to post pictures of himself in training the following day to further buttress the fact that he wasn’t fat as claimed.

The Brazilian posted several pictures on Instagram showing off his torso with the caption “Wow”.

To be fair, Neymar looked anything but fat in the training pictures. If anything, they revealed a toned mass of “packs” muscle which should effectively put the body-shaming to rest.

When the international break ends and club football resumes, Neymar will once again be in the spotlight and the world will be watching up close.

With want-away star Kylian Mbappe staying at the club and the recruitment of Lionel Messi, PSG may be set for a memorable campaign this season.
