From all indications, Diogo Dalot will remain at Manchester United for the 2021/2022 Season. The player returned after a successful loan spell with AC Milan.
The club is reportedly impressed with the Portuguese and are willing to make him part of the squad for the 2021/2022 season.
Dalot was a core part of AC Milan’s team last season helping them secure Champions League football after many years away from the competition. His exploits also earned him a call up from Portugal for the Euro 2020 competition.
Dalot’s national team call up came after Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo contracted the Covid-19 virus prior to the tournament.
Cancelo was forced to withdraw as a result, and then mid-way into the tournament, Nelson Semedo also got sidelined through injury giving Dalot a starting spot for Portugal.
Since returning to the club, Dalot has looked sharp throughout Manchester United’s pre-season games so far.

AC Milan are still said to be interested in Dalot but could not reach an agreement with Manchester United over another loan deal. The club is now reportedly in contact with Serie A rivals Roma to sign Florenzi on loan as a replacement for the Portuguese.
With Dalot set to stay, Manchester United have cooled their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier. It is reported that the club will now prioritize signing a midfielder over a right-back this summer.
The club believes Dalot is ready to compete for a place in the squad and at the same time provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.
Manchester United signed Alex Telles to compete with Luke Shaw and ever since then, Luke shaw has improved drastically.
They are trying to use the same strategy on Wan-Bissaka with Dalot who is also ready to fight for a place in the squad.
The 22-year-old will be a very good prospect for United. The club knows this and that is why they are reluctant to sell the player.
