Brazil are winners of the 2020 Football Olympics Gold medal after defeating Spain in extra-time all thanks to Malcolm’s 108th minute winning goal.
Brazil’s victory over Spain means they’ve won the Olympics Gold medal back to back after winning the same in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Mikel Oyarzabal cancelled Cunha’s first-half opener in the 61st minute when he converted Carlos Soler’s cross into the back of the net.
The goal took the game to extra time where Malcolm scored the winning goal after coming off from the bench for extra time.
Spain were unable to find an equalizer till the final whistle which meant they have to settle for the silver medal.
Everton forward Richarlison finished as the competition’s top scorer with five goals. Congratulations were also in order for Dani Alves who added to his trophy collection to take his tally to 43 trophies in his very impressive career.
Alves’ number of trophies is the most by any football player, therefore, this makes him the most successful footballer in history.

The 38-year-old right-back couldn’t hide his excitement as he captained Brazil to yet another Olympics Gold medal win.
Alves was not able to participate in the Rio 2016 Olympics which was played on home soil so he saw the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as an opportunity for redemption.
Alves played every minute in the competition. He played all six games in Japan amounting to 600 minutes in 16 days. He was quoted as saying:
“I’m a dreamer, a small dreamer, and more than a dreamer, somebody who executes their dreams. The most important thing is to fight, and that’s what I know what to do. I have the drive of a 23-year-old. I still want to do big things in football.”
Brazil were brilliant throughout their Olympics campaign, retaining their gold medal. They are indeed worthy champions of the 2020 Football Olympics gold medal.
