Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that his team is one of the potential challengers for the Premier League title for the new season.
This comes shortly after the Red Devils boosted their squad with the addition of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane from Borrussia Dortmund and Real Madrid respectively with a combined £105million fee.
Solskjaer believes that they can now stop the dominance of Manchester City and Liverpool in the past few years and bring an end to their trophy drought.
The Norwegian believes that with the summer additions, they have been able to bridge the quality gap between the club and their rivals and will tenaciously contend for the Premier League title for the new season.
However, Solskjaer is not tipping Manchester United alone to be a major contender for the title, he has also hinted that Chelsea are also favourites in the race as well.
The Manchester United manager appears to be under pressure despite signing a new three-year contract last month.

Some United fans have called for his sacking due to the fact he hasn’t won anything despite having some of the best players in the league.
“I feel us and Chelsea have spent well, worked well and we should look at ourselves as potential challengers,’ Solskjaer said.
“It feels like this season coming up is one of the strongest Premier League seasons. Of course it’s been City and Liverpool fighting it out for a few years. Anyone who ends up above last year’s champions will be champions.
“I’d rather be an optimist and be wrong than be a pessimist and be right. Of course these boys can [win the league], with a maximum effort and maximum sacrifice.
“We want to start winning trophies and we’ve laid the foundations.”
The 48-year-old also believes that his new three-year contract at the club doesn’t mean relaxation for him but rather to drill the squad in the best possible way and rack up much success in the club. Failing to do this, he may be shown the exit door.
“It doesn’t matter if you have a 10-year contract or a one-year contract, if you don’t do well off you go,” the Norwegian added.
“You feel under pressure all the time. At this club, with this responsibility, it’s not just clinging onto your job it’s about the responsibility that’s in my hands.”
Solskjaer to over at Manchester United after the sacking of Mourinho in December 2019. Since his appointment, the club have lost four semifinals and one final meaning he is still without silverware to his name.
