Harry Kane Issues Statement Denying Training Snub

Tottenham forward Harry Kane has issued a statement where he debunks the news that he intentionally missed training in order to force a move away from the club.

In recent days, a lot of reports have been circulating on social media and football websites claiming that Harry Kane has refused to resume training with his club.

The reports also claim that Kane’s refusal to train with the rest of the squad for the forthcoming season is in a bid to force a move away from the club.

The England international has been quite vocal about leaving Tottenham with a number of clubs including Manchester City and Chelsea interested in the forward. However, it looks like the London club will not allow their star man to leave or join their close rival.

On the other hand, Kane has claimed that the reports that have been going around social media and football websites are untrue.

Tweeting about his current situation at Tottenham, he debunked the news going round about him refusing to train to be false;

“It’s almost ten years since I made my Spurs debut. For every one of those years, you -the fans- have shown me total support and love,” he said.

“That’s why it hurts to read some of the comments that have been made this week, questioning my professionalism.

“While I won’t go into the specifics of the situation, I want to clarify that I would never, and have never, refused to train. I will be returning to the club tomorrow [Saturday], as planned.

“I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize the relationship I have with the fans who have given me such unwavering support during my time with the club. This has always been the case as it is today”.

Kane who joined Tottenham Hotspur academy as an 11-year-old, rose from the ranks to make his senior team debut in August 2011. He has since then scored 221 goals in 336 appearances in all competitions for the London club.

It is still unclear if Kane will remain a Tottenham player for the new season as a transfer can happen any time in the near future.
