Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker has signed a new long-term contract with the Reds.
Following the footsteps of other teammates like Trent Alexander Arnold and Fabinho who signed new contracts with the Reds earlier on, Allison Becker has become the latest man to also commit his future to the club.
The Brazilian International who moved from AS Roma to Anfield in the summer of 2018 has been able to imprint himself as one of the world’s finest goalkeepers.
Alisson proved to be an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s team when he successfully led the Reds to Champions League triumph in the 2018/2019 season.
He was also phenomenal for the club helping them to a Premier League trophy in the 2019/2020 season and also securing FIFA Club World Cup success.
Alisson also won the Copa America with his country in 2019 and racked up several individual awards including FIFA Best Men’s Goalkeeper in 2019.

After signing the contract, Alisson spoke to Liverpool via their official website;
“I think I didn’t waste too much time to think about that. It’s something we just built in those last three years, the confidence, the trust that I have in the club and the club has in myself.
“Me and my family, we are really happy here. My kids are settled in England, in a different country, but they are growing up in that way. So we are really happy.
“I’m really glad that I can keep going on with my work here, doing a good job here. So, I’m really happy to make this decision – that is not hard for me.”
The 28-year-old also shed light on his and the club’s expectations going into the new season.
“We have to set goals and we have to set them high winning everything that we are playing for, the Champions League, Premier League, the cups, everything. I think we can start from there.
“But obviously, winning depends on what we will put on the pitch, what we will give on the pitch and we have to give 100 per cent at least. If we can push harder, we will go.”
Since his arrival at Anfield, Alisson has made 130 appearances, keeping 57 clean sheets in total. He was nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2019 but finished 7th in the standings.
Alisson signing a new long-term contract with Liverpool will no doubt serve as a boost to the club as part of efforts to compete for various titles in the upcoming season.
Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign away to Norwich on 14 August.
