Rio Ferdinand has accused the English Media of bias in reporting the Harry Kane situation.
The former Manchester United defender is known as one who does not hide his feelings and has always voiced out his opinion about issues around football.
The Harry Kane situation has people talking about his decisions and actions after the Spurs forward decided to boycott training in order to force a move away from the club.
While some people feel it is the only way the club will listen and let him leave, others feel he is going about it the wrong way, that it will tarnish his image and he will lose the respect of the club fans.
Rio Ferdinand couldn’t help but notice how the English media are sugar-coating the situation and often using the same sentence “He had a gentleman’s agreement with the club” in solidarity with the player.
A majority agreed with Rio Ferdinand that the English Media are showing the player love and support mainly because he is white and he is seen as the face of the England National team.

Rio Ferdinand took to his Twitter handle and wrote:
“Let Paul Pogba not turn up for Manchester United training and see how the English media and fans go mad! Helicopters & police forces [will be] out searching his location immediately.”
The majority of his followers seem to agree with his stance that English Media always protects England players unless the player is not a white player and that foreign players are treated differently in the league.
A user also pointed out how Aubameyang got heavily criticized by the English media for turning up late to the training.
Many news outlets were busy analysing his behaviour and the English fans gave their opinion of how uncultured the player’s behaviour is.
In Kane’s case, however, the media is mute and even sympathising with the player. Most people believe the English Media indulges in clear double standards when treating players of colour.
Black players suffer racial abuse a lot and Ferdinand himself has been a subject of racial abuse. He has never stopped calling out the media for aiding such actions as they too are being biased in their reports and media coverage.
