Monaco have signed Brazilian, Jean Lucas from fellow Ligue 1 side Lyon for a reported fee of around €11million.
The 23-year-old signed a five-year deal with Monaco, previously spending two seasons with Lyon and making just 25 appearances before he was loaned out for the second half of last season.
The Brazilian has 67 top-flight games under his belt in Brazil and France, with several stints with Flamengo and Santos where he scored three goals and assisted five.
The Brazilian began his professional football career at Flamengo in 2017, after spending two years at their academy. He was promoted to the first team ahead of the 2018 season by manager Reinaldo Rueda.
On 20 June 2019, Lucas swapped Brazil for France, moving to Lyon for a fee of around €8 million. He officially joined the club five days later, signing a five-year deal.

Lucas did not have a lot of game time at Lyon and he moved to Brest on loan for the second half of the 2020/21 season in January 2021.
On 2 August 2021, Jean Lucas moved to another Ligue 1 club, Monaco on a five-year contract for a transfer fee of around €11 million plus €1 million in bonuses, and Lyon are entitled to 15% of a future sale of Jean Lucas.
Upon completing the deal, Jean Lucas had this to say; “I am proud to join AS Monaco, one of the biggest clubs in Ligue 1.
“The club had a great season and will be fighting for a place in the Champions League group stage. I am happy to have the opportunity to contribute to this sort of growth.”
Having played for two different clubs in Ligue 1, Monaco have in Lucas a midfielder with extensive experience and they will hope that he can deliver much more for them than he did at other clubs.
Monaco will begin their 2021/22 campaign with the first leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie against Sparta Prague.
