Chelsea Keeping Tabs On Odegaard Situation

According to reports, Chelsea are currently monitoring the situation of Real Madrid midfielder, Martin Odegaard in the Spanish capital.

Chelsea are monitoring the Norwegian international at Real Madrid in a bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge as speculation about his future continues.

It is believed that Real Madrid are looking to send some of their players packing in a bid to raise funds to land their major targets this summer.

Earlier on, Sergio Ramos left Madrid for PSG on a free transfer after his contract at the club came to an end. Meanwhile, Raphael Varane left for Manchester United in a £41 million deal. Odegaard may be the next player to exit the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 22-year-old experienced life in England last season when he was sent out on loan to Arsenal. He spent half of the season in North London and is reportedly open to a Premier League move for the forthcoming season.

Considering the number of players available at the Gunners’ disposal and probably tactical decisions by the coach, he was not given enough playing time during his loan spell, scoring just once and picking up two assists in nine league appearances for the Gunners.

It is now reported that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in signing the midfielder, with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool also interested in him.

The Blues are reportedly keeping tabs on the Norwegian who is valued to be around £35 million. The midfielder could be an interesting addition to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

If Chelsea are keen on signing the young midfielder, then they will have to fight off Liverpool and Arsenal in the race to secure his signature.

Tuchel’s side continue their quest for a striker with their latest interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland rebuffed by the club. Reports suggest the Blues are also considering other options in case the deal for Haaland falls through.
