According to reports, Martin Odegaard will be very much interested in a transfer back to Arsenal to continue his career after a successful loan spell with the club.
Odegaard wants to be a regular starter in club football, unfortunately, his chances appear slim at Real Madrid as it will be very hard to break into the midfield trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric.
Real Madrid’s initial plan was for the playmaker to gather a lot of experience and adapt to La Liga football before returning to the first team.
The Norwegian was sent on a two-year loan with Real Sociedad where the player had a very successful loan spell. He was right at the centre of the club’s creativity playing behind William José.
The midfielder impressed with Real Sociedad for and that prompted Real Madrid to recall the player to join the first team squad.
However, Odegaard suffered a lack of game time after being recalled, which pushed him to go on another loan transfer but this time to Arsenal.
The player really enjoyed his loan spell with Arsenal, both the club and the fans gave him a lot of support during his stay in London. He made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

There could be a paved way back to the Emirates for the 22-year-old as it is being reported that Real Madrid have lowered their asking price for the Norwegian.
According to reports, Los Blancos have informed Arsenal that they will accept the sum of €35m for Odegaard. This is an opportunity for Arsenal to sign the youngster on a permanent deal.
Odegaard has been at the top of the Arsenal transfer wish list and this could be the perfect time to make a move to sign the player.
Do you know?
Odegaard is the youngest ever player to feature for Real Madrid after coming on as a substitute at 16 years and 157 days old.
He is also the youngest ever player to play for Norway at senior level at 15 years and 253 days.
An alternative on their cards is James Maddison. The Leicester midfielder will be difficult and costlier to sign this summer, as the Foxes have made it known that they won’t accept less than €70m for their star midfielder.
With the club’s current financial situation, James Maddison might be impossible to land this summer despite the Gunners’ great admiration for the player.
Odegaard will be a great transfer addition to the Arsenal team which is now built around young players.
The player and the clubs are said to be in favour of a move, so it’s now left for Arsenal to make their interest official.
