Mbappe Reveals Biggest Dream Amid Transfer Rumours

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has revealed that his biggest dream is to win the Champions League trophy.

The PSG superstar has been linked nonstop with a move to Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid with reports alleging he was open to the move.

The 22-year-old’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and reports state that he is currently unwilling to renew with the Ligue 1 side.

While Los Blancos are reportedly very interested in bringing him to the Bernabeu, financial restrictions may prevent the deal from happening.

Amongst the vast number of trophies in the Frenchman’s cabinet are four domestic league titles in France and a World Cup trophy with his country.

However, the PSG forward is yet to win the Champions League and has revealed that achieving that is his dream at this stage of his career.

Mbappe endured a difficult campaign at the just concluded EUROS 2020 tournament where he failed to score and also missed the decisive penalty in the knockout clash against Switzerland.

Speaking to Paris Saint-Germain’s official club magazine in a joint interview with Brazil superstar Neymar, Mbappe said: “I’m not a very good journalist… what would I ask Neymar? What is your big dream after everything you’ve achieved?”

“My biggest dream with PSG is to win the Champions League and with Brazil to win the World Cup. And for you, Kylian, it’s to win the Champions League, isn’t it?” questioned Neymar.

“Why not another World Cup?” replied Mbappe, with a smile.

“No, the next World Cup is for me. What’s your next big dream after winning the World Cup?” Neymar chipped in.

“My biggest dream is to win the Champions League with PSG, that would be fantastic. But winning another World Cup would be great too,” Mbappe replied.

With this statement, it would appear that Mbappe is open to staying with the French giants for at least another season. It is however uncertain whether he intends to extend his contract.

His teammate Neymar, has already put pen to paper on a new contract that would keep him at the club till 2025.

PSG have been very busy in the transfer window, securing deals for former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, Netherlands captain Georginio Wijnaldum and EUROS 2020 winner Gianluigi Donnarumma, all on free transfers.

Les Parisiens have also brought in right-back Achraf Hakimi on a 70 million Euros deal from Inter Milan.

Mauricio Pochettino aims to bolster his squad ahead of the new season to be able to compete for silverware. Pundits have tipped the French giants to be one of the prime contenders to secure the Champions League title next season having crashed out of the semi-finals last season.
