In the Premier League, every season comes bearing challenges, suspense, revelations and surprises. Every club usually has its objectives for the season and while some surpass their expectations, some never achieve them.
With the new season just weeks away and pre-season games already in motion, let’s take a look at clubs amongst the
promoted clubs, top 10 and top four that are widely expected to do well and supersede expectations this season:
NORWICH CITY (Promoted)
The Canaries were the first team to be promoted from the Sky Bet Championship into the Premier League. They did so with five games to spare and eventually sealing the Championship title.
Daniel Farke’s side played very beautifully in the Championship and were very consistent for the most part of the season. This puts them ahead of their promoted counterparts Watford and Brentford in our expectations list.
Norwich City even before being relegated from the Premier League last two seasons were known to cause an upset to the big boys and they would have to remain hard to beat in order to try to avoid being relegated again.
The only issue standing in their way is a lack of financial support from the club to boost the squad. They wouldn’t want to suffer from a lack of squad depth when the season gets intense.
LEEDS UNITED (Top 10)
After fifteen years away from the Premier League, The Whites had a beautiful campaign last season by being the only promoted side remaining in the Premier League and also finishing top 10 in the league.
This was a massive achievement from Marcelo Bielsa’s side who always play very beautiful attacking football and not sitting back to defend as the other promoted sides did.
Leeds also boast a fine record against the Premier League top six clubs none of which could beat them at Elland Road.
What makes this Leeds United team beautiful to watch is their prowess in attack and they have just the right players for that.
With their current crop of players, this Leeds United team will have their eyes on European football next season which is enough motivation to double their efforts from last season.

LIVERPOOL FC (Top 4)
Liverpool finished third in the Premier League table last season defying everyone’s expectations and they have no plans of relenting.
After a very poor and tedious title defence largely due to the dozens of injuries that hit members of the club very early in the season, Liverpool lost all their senior centre backs and had to rely on young and inexperienced defenders for their league and champions league matches.
On some occasions, Jurgen Klopp, resorted to pairing his midfielders at the back of the defence, but despite ll the injuries, they still managed to grab a top-four finish.
It was a nightmare of a season for Liverpool but towards the end of the season, The Reds experienced a spike in form from virtually all the players. This late resurgence in the squad helped to salvage Liverpool’s season.
Their resilience is what makes them prime candidates to retain a top-four spot next season. Heading into the new season, Liverpool will have all their senior centre backs fully fit to add to their new signing Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig.
Liverpool will look to compensate for their under-par season last campaign and the Reds are very well known for their massive attacking football and their winning mentality to come back strong.
The Premier League is full of surprises but these three clubs from each category should not be looked down on. But for now, we await the new season and what it brings.
