Olivier Giroud Bids Farewell To Chelsea In Touching Message

Olivier Giroud has bid farewell to Chelsea fans, teammates and staff as he completes his medical to join Serie A side AC Milan.

Giroud is set to complete a summer move to the Italian giants on a two-year deal. The striker was spotted at Milan’s La Madonnina clinic on Friday morning having a medical ahead of the move.

Reports suggest that the Frenchman signed official documents after the medical but there is yet to be an official announcement from either club.

Giroud however, took to Twitter to bid farewell to the fans and staff.

“To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments.

I’m starting a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in FA Cup, Europa League and Champions league have been magnificent.

The deal for Giroud is a two-year-deal with a reported fee of around €1m with an extra €1m in bonuses subject to a number of appearances and qualification for the Champions League.

He has scored 39 goals in 119 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge, winning three major trophies, including the Champions League title in May. Giroud scored 144 goals in 372 appearances in England featuring for both Arsenal and Chelsea.

Giroud was also a part of the France squad for the EURO 2020. He featured for the squad but didn’t make a substantial effect before they were knocked out of the competition by Switzerland.
