Regarded as a legend to most at Stamford Bridge, former Chelsea player Pat Nevin has urged Thomas Tuchel to utilize Germany international, Kai Havertz.

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has been told to make the most of Kai Havertz since Chelsea are finding it difficult to strike a deal for players in the transfer market. The Blues were dealt a hard blow a few days ago after failing to land Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi who opted to sign for PSG.

Chelsea are also set to miss out on Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku who according to reports would rather stay with the Serie A Champions than make a move to England.

Nevin is hence with the opinion that Chelsea already have the armoury to cause damage in attack in the person of 22-year-old Kai Havertz.

Havertz had a very difficult start to his life at the Bridge but ended the campaign in the most spectacular fashion by scoring the only goal in the Champions League final against Manchester City.

Since making a £71m switch from Bayern Leverkusen to Chelsea last summer, all eyes have been on the midfielder to deliver as quickly as possible and justify his huge price tag.

However, he struggled in front of goal and had a major setback when he contracted Coronavirus which adversely affected him.

When Tuchel took over at the helm from Lampard, the midfielder seemed reborn with the change of management.

Under Frank Lampard, Havertz struggled for a definite position in the team but Tuchel quickly solved that problem by playing him as a false nine.

Under Tuchel, Havertz has gradually grown into a player Blues fans are anxious to see play.

Former Chelsea winger and legend Pat Nelvin is not left out in speaking highly about him.

“In reality, the player heads and shoulders above everyone else, I’m looking forward to, is Kai Havertz,” Nevin told the Chelsea Chronicle.

“Looking at the bits he did at the end of the season; this is the guy who scored the winning goal in the Champions League final.

“He’s beginning to show bits of utter brilliance. The possibilities of where he could go are endless, absolutely limitless.”

Nevin said that the midfielder’s ability to stay injury-free could propel him to reach his potential.

“I just hope this is the season, without any injuries, the confidence grows and we find the right position that suits him.”

Chelsea have been linked with a few players to bolster their attack with Wolves winger Adama Traore and Dortmund forward Erling Haaland amongst those being considered. But it is still yet to be seen if a deal would materialise.
