Gernot Rohr Names Super Eagles Provisional Squad For Friendly

Nigeria Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has named a 31-man provisional squad list for the upcoming international friendly match against Cameroon on June 4 in Vienna.

The provisional list will later be reduced to a 23-man squad ahead of the fixture.

Amongst the called up players, there’s a first-time invitation for Abraham Marcus. The 21-year-old plays as a forward for Feirense in the Portuguese LigaPro.

Regulars like Ahmed Musa, Joe Aribo, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon were called up.

Gernot Rohr has also invited Simy Nwankwo three years after he last played for the team.

Simy is Nigeria’s top striker in Europe’s top five leagues with 19 goals to his name.

Another invited player is Tarem Moffi who plays for Ligue 1 side Lorient. Moffi is also in red hot form this season with 14 goals to his name.

Despite being named in the squad for the games against Benin and Lesotho, Moffi has never featured for the Super Eagles. Maybe his luck is about to change and he’ll finally be able to make his debut for his country of birth.
