Fulham have been relegated from the Premier League following their 2-0 defeat against Burnley on Monday night.
The 18th-placed Cottagers went into the match against 17th-placed Burnley knowing anything less than a win would not be enough to keep their survival hopes alive.
However, goals from Ashley Westwood and Chris Wood ensured that Scott Parker’s men will be playing in the Championship next season.
Burnley had the game all but wrapped up in the first half. Westwood’s goal in the 35th minute was quickly doubled by Wood to put the tie in the hands of the visitors.
Scott Parker’s men could not muster up a comeback in the second half, hence confirming their relegation.
Fulham find themselves going back down, having only gained promotion last year. This is a second relegation in three seasons for the Cottagers. They join Sheffield United and West Brom as the relegated clubs of the campaign.

Despite being relegated, Fulham still have three games left to play this season; against Southampton, Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic said the team didn’t do enough to stay up and deserved the drop.
“It is tough, but we failed tonight and we failed this season,” he said.
“It is hard to find the words after this performance and after this season. It wasn’t good enough. We didn’t deserve it and I have played football long enough to know football is a really honest game, and in the end you finish where you deserve to be.
“We didn’t deserve to stay up this season and everything we showed this season was not enough.
“It was good at times, but overall we finish where we deserve to be, and it is really sad. We are really sad for the fans and the people in the club.”
